Welcome to HabitUp (“we”, “our”, “us”). By creating an account or using HabitUp (“Service”), you (“user”, “you”) agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. Service Description

• HabitUp is a self-reflection and journaling platform for creating personal journal entries, reflections, tasks, and mood logs.
• Encryption: Journal & Reflection entries are encrypted on your device using PBKDF2 + AES-GCM. We cannot decrypt them.
• Clear Text: Task & Mood logs are stored in clear text to enable reminders, charts, and related features.
• Profile Information: We collect your name, profile picture, and email address to personalize your account and enable login/sync.

2. User Responsibilities

• You are responsible for securing your passphrase and login credentials. If lost, we cannot recover encrypted data.
• You agree not to use the Service for illegal, harmful, or abusive activity.
• You must be at least [16 / 18] years old (depending on jurisdiction) to use HabitUp.

3. Data Ownership

• You retain ownership of your journals, reflections, tasks, mood logs, and profile data.
• We do not read or use your encrypted content.
• You grant us a limited license to store/process data only to provide the Service.

4. Service Availability

We aim for reliable access, but do not guarantee uninterrupted Service. Features may change, be suspended, or discontinued.

5. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, loss of data, or downtime.

6. Data Wipe & Account Continuity

You may initiate a data wipe at any time. We will immediately and permanently delete your journals, reflections, tasks, and mood logs from our servers.

Your account and basic profile info (name, picture, email) will remain so you can continue using HabitUp.

7. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Local consumer protections in your jurisdiction may also apply.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms. Significant changes will be communicated in-app or by email.
